Meet the chaos-maker. Every story needs a mastermind. Here’s yours.
You’ve found the part of the website where the curtains are drawn back… just a little. What lies beyond? Some truths, a few fabrications, and maybe a secret or two. After all, what’s the fun in a thriller if you know everything upfront?
Who Am I?
I write stories that keep you guessing, combining edge-of-your-seat action, speculative twists, and just enough darkness to keep the lights on at night. My novels delve into hidden conspiracies, psychic connections, rogue AIs, ghostly encounters, and more—all wrapped in high-stakes adventure.
But life isn’t just about plotting fictional chaos. By day, I’m a project manager in the financial services industry—a world that’s a little more spreadsheets and deadlines than psychic espionage and secret societies. The real thrill, though, is blending those two worlds: bringing order to chaos in the day job and unleashing chaos in my stories.
When Did I Start Writing?
Like many writers, my journey started early. My dad would read me bedtime stories—classics, adventures, and sometimes tales he invented on the spot. Those nights sparked my imagination and led to scribbling stories in schoolbooks before I could even spell “cliffhanger.”
At sixteen, I wrote my first “epic” story: 64,000 words typed on an old Imperial 66 manual typewriter. Single-spaced. No paragraph breaks. It was a true monster (and not the good kind). I haven’t dared to read it since, but it taught me one important thing: I loved writing.
The Lost Years and the Comeback
Then, life happened. Somewhere in my late teens, I stopped writing. I didn’t stop thinking about stories—I devoured books, TV shows, and movies—but the typewriter gathered dust for over thirty years.
In 2011, my wife asked me a simple question: “What do you really want to do?” Without hesitation, I said, “Be a writer.” That moment brought me back. Since then, I’ve been crafting stories again—starting with short stories, then novels, and now an ever-expanding universe of speculative thrillers.
What Inspires Me?
The stories I write are fueled by the stories I love. Science fiction, thrillers, a dash of comedy—I soak it all up. Think Doctor Who, Star Trek, Aliens, Breaking Bad, and Game of Thrones. Throw in a sprinkling of Monty Python, Red Dwarf, and Blackadder for good measure, and you’ve got my creative DNA.
And, of course, there’s Aikido. Twenty-plus years of practising this Japanese martial art has taught me balance, focus, and how to redirect energy—skills that somehow sneak into my writing process. Aikido’s philosophy is all about harmonising with chaos, and if that doesn’t sound like a writer’s life, I don’t know what does.
The Lies?
I don’t always have it together (plotting a novel is messy business), but I’ll never admit it. I tell my friends “this one’s just a short story,” knowing full well it’s spiraling into another multi-book epic. And let’s be honest: when I said on the homepage “more martial arts philosophy than you can shake a bokken at”? That was a lie. The bokken stays in the dojo (most of the time).
The Secrets?
I love hearing from readers. You might think writers live in quiet solitude, but honestly, we thrive on feedback, questions, and conspiracy theories about where the plot will go next. Got a burning question? A wild guess about my next twist? Hit me up—I might even give you a straight answer.
Join the Chaos
If you’ve made it this far, you’re officially part of the team. Stick around for thrilling reads, occasional revelations, and maybe a few more secrets (but only if you promise not to tell).
